Of Course x Off Course, qual a diferença ?


OF COURSE [É claro; é óbvio]
OFF COURSE [Fora de curso]

Cuidado ao traduzir as expressões “OF COURSE” e “OFF COURSE”. A primeira tem o sentido de “obviamente”, “é óbvio” e “é claro”. Já a segunda significa “fora de rota”.
  • She invited me to her party, but I’m not going, of course.
  • Ela me convidou para a festa dela, mas eu não vou, é claro.
  • The bus driver distracted himself for a second and drove off course.
  • O motorista do ônibus se distraiu por um segundo e saiu da rota.
